I am (along with my spouse) planning to join. We are thinking flying in on 18th morning and flying out the same day (if thats okay). Just need to confirm if 18th is confirmed for the rally. Is there an official time so that I can arrange my tickets accordingly?

This is how NumbersUSA (Anti-Immigrationist) is salivating to the Senate ammendments on adding E-Verify to the Appropriations bill. Disgusting...
NEXT 2 WEEKS OUR BEST CHANCE FOR IMPROVEMENT THIS YEAR
Friends, we spend most of our time trying to get good legislation just looked at somewhere.
We are in a totally different -- and better -- position at this moment. What we have now is amazingly good legislation already passed by the U.S. Senate -- by easy margins! The good stuff is on the table. It's on its way to law. It is ours to lose right now. We haven't been in a better position than this in a very long time. Instead of fighting for our lives to stop something really bad, we have something very good to protect and preserve.
I would say, we should do what helps us. If the US wants to be protectionist, it is welcome to as long as we do what helps us most. And in this case becoming protectionist will not help us.

Are you sure about these approvals?
I checked Texas Processing Center website. It still shows September 11, 2006 for I-485. May be your friends meant receipt notices.
Two of my friends got their GC approved today..
GC number 1 ... PD 2003 May
GC number 2 ... PD 2004 April
2004 April ....

The explanation of your case can't be done over the forum because of complexity of the case. If you deem it necessary to have an attorney who can guide and handle your questions/case please call at 877-847-7896. Thank you.
Yep..someone please advise...also do we need to do anything special like submitting any document to USCIS or should the company's HR document anything once we dont extend my h1? Will I automatically be in AOS( which i think i am already in ) and my i would be working on EAD?
Please clarify.

The December 2007 Visa Bulletin reports that in just a little over one month in October 2007 and first week of November 2007, China/India had already exhausted 38% of total annual EB-2 numbers for FY 2008. The statistics was astonishing. Reportedly, this induced the State Department to retrogress the EB-2 cut-off dates for China and India in December 2007 Visa Bulletin. Worse yet, the State Department predicted that the demand may continue, and the EB-2 cut-off dates for China and India may further retrogress in the Second Quarter of FY 2008 (January through March 2008).
Most of EB-2 visa numbers stem from the number of labor certification applications produced by the U.S. Department of Labor. Obviously, owing to the heavily retrogressed EB-3 visa numbers, most of Chinese and Indians have been filing EB-2 instead of EB-3 labor certification applications. The FY 2006 Foreign Labor Certification Performance Report (October 1, 2005 - September 30, 2006) revealed a somewhat stunning statistics. The page 11 of the report includes a diagram of education of certified labor certifications during the period. The report for China and India showed a figure close to 50% of total approved labor certification application included Master degree cases during the period! Considering the fact that the report included both Backlog cases and PERM cases, it must have affected the EB-2 visa cut-off dates for these two countries in December 2007. The DOL has yet to release the FY 2007 Foreign Labor Certification Performance Report. However, no one will speculate that the demands for EB-2 labor certification applications and EB-2 immigrant petititons have slowed down for China and India since then. Considering the fact that the Congress may not pass any legislation to give a relief to the current employment-based immigration system until 2009 after the national election is over, we indeed do not see any light at the end of tunnel. People will just have to learn survival tactics for the long journey, overcoming any potential obstacles that can develop along the way.

Can someone please help me? My PD is July of 2006. My attorney mailed my 485 and it reached the NSC on June 28th. I just realized on Friday that she mailed my app when my PD was not current. We have not recevied a rejection or receipt and checks have not been cashed. I think my application will be rejected - she thinks it will not be and is going to charge me 2500 to refile plus the 1150 in uscis fees. She is telling me that because the visa bulletin was released on the 14th of June that I am current. Basically she is telling me that the bulletin is current from the day it is releaased until the end of the following month. She just got very upset with me for questioning her and says not to worry that we will be fine? Can anyone advise?
Your lawyer is wrong, visa bulletin will be effective from the first day of the month until the end of the month. According to USCIS your application might be rejected, i would think of re-filing again at any cost.

IV just planted a few seeds here and there and when the fresh fruits of ideas will hang on it, they will let you know then.
I think most members have become disinterested because past effort have not produced any results.
One thing is clear just lecturing members to go meet up with the lawmakers is NOT working. IV needs to come up with some fresh ideas, I mean we all need to come up with new ideas.

This is what's called awareness my friend. Today these 2 guys talked about it, tomorrow someone else will talk about it, and then someone else. When enough people start talking about it, then the problem gets noticed and might eventually get addressed.
No matter how rich or powerful you are, one person can't make things happen in DC. If Bill Gates and President Bush can't get something happen all by themselves, who are we? This is why we need awareness to our problem so that enough lawmakers understand the problem and feel the need to fix it. In fact, this is how any policy change is in acted.
what's the significance of this talk show , can someone please explian ? Even when Bill Gates can talk and nothing happens , how come this 15 mins of BS will solve this ?

I think we've all questioned the need to withdraw your I-485, but not really answered your question about the implications of withdrawing your application!
I do think we have to consider withdrawing I-485 as an option, especially when your PD is current and your marriage is planned for a later month and your fiance is in India. It seems less stressful to be able to withdraw you application and re-apply when you are married and can apply jointly with your wife. I would certainly consider that if my PD was current, but just like you, I don't know the implications of such an action. I don't see any good alternatives though - Follow-To-Join doesn't exactly seem like a very good option since it takes atleast 6 months to go through that process. The only other option is to pray each day and just hope your application isn't approved.
I hope someone with experience in withdrawing their application can provide some input here.
Well none of the guys who asked this question including myself have the PD current. So I personally consider it foolish to withdraw I-485. If the PD was current I would take the next flight to get married. But since its not, I was curious to know why this thought would even cross anyone's mind. My advice is to not withdraw AOS application.;)

when did you efile this? and which service center. I recently efiled our AP also with NSC and all I sent was this:
1) receipt confirmation page.
2) 2 photographs.
3) Copy of expired AP.
4) Copy of 485 receipt.
This is all I sent last time to TSC and they approved it fine. Its getting tougher and tougher to even move an inch with USCIS these days.
Hi,
I went through the IV forums to gather the list of documents that I had to send for AP efiling. I compiled the following list of documents and sent these out as supporting documents for my wife's AP renewal application -
1. I-131 E-File Confirmation Receipt
2. Copy, USCIS Receipt for e-filed I-131
3. Evidence of Adjustment of Status filing
- Receipt Notice of I-485 application.
4. Copy, Previous Advanced Parole issued.
5. Copy, Official Photo Identity Document(s) with Photo, Name and Date of Birth
- Biographic Page of Passport.
- Employment Authorization Document (both sides)
- State Drivers License
6. Copy, Document Issued by USCIS Showing Present Status
- I-94
7. 2 copies of Passport Photograph
I have received an RFE on this. This is the what I got -
"Evidence of Eligibility: Submit a copy of your approval notice (Notice of Action, Form I-797) or receipt notice (Form I-797C) for Form I140, or Form I360 or Form I526. If you have filed the I485 as a derivative alien, submit spouse's or parent's I797C for his/her I-485 and the I-797 for his/her approved or pending I140, I360, or I526."
I am the primary applicant still on my H1B (7th year). My wife is working and on EAD. I guess I should have sent my 485 receipt, 140 approval, EAD etc. too and could have avoided this RFE. From the above statement, I infer that I should be sending the following documents now -
1. 'I797, Notice of Action - Approval Notice' for my approved I140
2. 'I797, Notice of Action - Receipt Notice' for my I-485 application.
Please let me know if this list of documents would suffice the RFE or if I need to send anything else like the following -
1. Copy, Previous Advanced Parole issued to me.
2. Copy of my EAD
3. Copy of my H1B Approval
4. Copy of my I-94
5. Copy of my Drivers License
Also, I (am not sure and) do not have I-797C for my I-485. The scanned copy that I have just says I-797. Should I ask my attorney for I-797C?
Please respond. Thanks.
