Diamond Boots Worth $3.1 Million

     Boots are in and Antwerp Diamond Centre has taken them to a whole new level!  On December 4, they unveiled what they are billing as the "World's Most Expensive Shoes" -  boots covered in 1,527 carats of diamonds!

     The paisley-patterned black leather ankle boots are decked out in 38,883 natural fancy colored champagne, gray, and pink diamonds and 4,753 grams of gold. Designing the boots and selecting and setting the diamonds took 30,000 hours.

     The one-of-a-kind boots were prepared for Business of Design Week in Hong Kong.  To celebrate Antwerp's fashion and diamond industries, Belgian luxury label A.F. Vandevorst teamed up with diamond company Diarough to create the pair of glittering boots, which were revealed Wednesday night in Hong Kong.  The boots are said to be for sale and are valued at $3.1 million.
